About Barbara Shamouil

Barbara emigrated to this country in 1979 with three children while the revolution that took place in Iran.

With the little money she had, she started a small business in downtown Manhattan. Subsequently selling that business after a couple of years. Barbara became involved in Real Estate and began her career on Long Island and Queens. Despite many ups and downs in the marketplace, she managed to guide her buyers thru thick and thin, to secure them a home, or on the part of the sellers, to secure them a qualified buyer.

Barbara's life is not a fairytale. She survived a difficult time adjusting to her new home while studying for her salesperson license; moved her family from Long Island to Queens; put her three children through college; subsequently paying for three weddings and raised many of her grandchildren while her kids were busy with their careers. Taking a break from Real Estate, Barbara partnered with her children and opened a string of shoe stores. In 2001, after the events of 911, and the economic downturn, she decided to close the stores and follow her passion for real estate again.

Despite many "ups and downs". she found herself in a very competitive and aggressive marketplace. But she did not allow those to be a factor. In fact, she looks at it as an incentive. Her many years of experience as a mother and business person, have now come together to give her a unique advantage, in understanding the needs of a seller and a buyer. Her passion and persistence are assets to her clients
