Ben joined National Land Realty in January 2025 after a 34-year career as a newspaper publisher, bringing with him a lifelong connection to communities across Alabama and a strong background in public service. A proud graduate of the University of Alabama, Ben has served as national president of the UA National Alumni Association and president of the Alabama Press Association. His roots in the North Alabama region run deep, making him a valuable resource for clients looking to buy or sell land in Alabama.
Over the years, Ben has lived in several towns across North Alabama and has called Mentone home for the past 10 years, following a decade of part-time residence. He currently serves on the Mentone Planning Commission, is a past president of the Albertville Rotary Club, past chair of the Mentone Arts Center, and is actively involved with his Episcopal Church and local nonprofit fundraising efforts.
When he’s not helping clients find the perfect property or helping landowners, Ben enjoys fly fishing and traveling, especially when he can combine the two. His appreciation for the outdoors aligns with his passion for helping others discover the value and beauty of rural property.
Ben and his wife, Mary, have been married for 33 years. Their son, Brad, and daughter-in-law Kimberly live in South Pittsburg, Tennessee—Brad is also part of the NLR family. Their younger son, Will, and his wife, Katie, live in Fairhope, Alabama, with their two sons, Drew and Jay.
