Starting July 1st, 2018, Brokers and salespeople will no longer be chained to one specific MLS. The National Association of REALTORS? Board of Directors has voted to give you more flexibility when it comes to which MLS you can be part of. This new rule gives you the freedom to choose which MLS you, your agents, and your colleagues join. You can read more about the NAR ruling here.

Under this new rule, companies are no longer required to have every agent part of the same MLS. If your brokerage belongs to one MLS, but you have agents that want to be part of another MLS; they can do so, without the fear of you or your company being fined, or worse, removed from the MLS. This new rule give you the opportunity to recruit more new agents who may not be part of your current MLS.

Agents can now join the MLS of their choice, without the fear of their broker being penalized by their local MLS. If you are a new agent, or perhaps working part time, you can now join an MLS that fits your needs and your budget.
