Wes Oates joined National Land Realty in May 2026 with over 35 years of experience in corporate finance, banking, and operations management. After a successful career with Fortune 500 companies in the hospitality, gaming, retail, and automotive manufacturing industries, as well as more than two decades with Wachovia and Wells Fargo, Wes is excited to begin a new chapter helping clients buy and sell land in North Carolina.

Throughout his career, Wes has held leadership positions in supply chain management, securities operations, accounting, and data management, giving him a strong analytical background and attention to detail that benefit his real estate clients. His business experience, combined with a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors, makes him a trusted land agent in North Carolina for buyers and sellers seeking recreational land, hunting property, or investment opportunities.

Wes earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University and an MBA with a finance concentration from the University of Memphis. Outside of real estate, Wes is active in his community as a volunteer for Nourish Up, a network of food pantries and the primary Meals on Wheels program in Mecklenburg County. He serves as a Meals on Wheels driver, Food Share coordinator, and event volunteer, reflecting his passion for helping others.

An avid outdoorsman, Wes enjoys spending time with family, golfing, turkey hunting, deer hunting with traditional archery equipment, and fly fishing. He and his wife, Courtney, live in Charlotte, North Carolina, and are proud parents of five adult children and grandparents to two grandchildren, with another on the way. Alongside their Labrador retriever, they enjoy embracing the outdoor lifestyle that makes North Carolina land ownership so rewarding.
