A well-educated professional, Nilsen holds a BA degree in Film Production and an MFA in TV & Video Production, both received from The City University of New York. He has spent most of his career in Manhattan, working for many years as a restaurant manager as well as a film/TV/theater producer and director in Rio and New York.
