An 8-year resident of Long Island City, Heath has seen the neighborhood change dramatically. Originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, Heath grew up in an area with a strong sense of community.  It wasn’t until he discovered the growing neighborhood of Long Island City that he finally felt he had found a new place to call home in NYC and to build his own community.

Heath’s love of real estate began early. As a young child he was the one dragging his mom to open houses. His passion for aesthetics and storytelling were closely related to his real estate enthusiasm, and he earned a BFA in Theatre Studies at the University of Evansville in Indiana.

In 2008, Heath moved to New York City to pursue his passion for the arts.  Upon his arrival, he worked as a producer/director on several theatrical productions.  His artistic background and love for design, led him to working as a Digital Producer for the DOOH marketing company, Grand Visual.  While there, he worked with an impressive list of clients including Google, Facebook, Disney and Coca Cola.

Along the way, Heath met Douglas Elliman agent, Christopher Austad,  who quickly recognized his talent and saw potential for him in the real estate industry. Heath soon joined the Austad Team and, in addition to his sense of humor, Heath brought with him his next level organization and attention to detail, a keen designer’s eye that offers client’s a fresh perspective when visualizing a space, and a sincerity that clients love and adore.

In addition to his extensive knowledge of market trends and local information, Heath is also great at  offering financial expertise, strong market knowledge and honest advice which makes for a smooth and seamless process. Paramount to his approach with clients, is finding the humor even while navigating the daunting buying and selling process.

Heath is an advocate for the LGBT community and has long been a champion of equality. He lives on the waterfront in Long Island City with his husband, and the couple takes every opportunity to travel and explore the world when they can. Their next destination includes parenthood as they prepare to expand their happy family.
