65 Acres Close To Bethel Woods Center For The Arts
A preliminary concept site plan calls for a two story, 120 room hotel with 168 parking spaces, 114 RV Parking Sites, 33 Tent Sites and a stand alone 4800 sq ft restaurant with parking for 96 vehicles. The property sits in the Rural Development District which in addition to what has been designed in the concept site plan has a number of other permitted uses including: Camps, single family homes and mobile home parks. This 65 acre site is approximately 1.5+/- miles from the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is situated on the former 1969 Woodstock Musical festival site. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is a year round tourist destination. The majority of its visitors arrive during the summer months concert series that are held at the outdoor music pavilion. Roughly 450,000 visitors arrive each year to the Bethel Center for the Arts. Bethel Center for the Arts recently applied for a $9 million grant from the Federal Economic Development Agency which will be used to expand onsite camping to 4600 campsites and accommodate over 13,000 campers. This will clearly put this part of the Catskills on the map as the Mecca for summer camping.
